IN-CHARACTER:
Character name: ARC-1409 "Echo"
Character journal: [personal profile] on_repeat
Series name: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Canon notes: Somewhere in the first half of the third season Some time after joining the effort to save his home planet from Separatist invasion, basically gaining experience as a full-fledged ARC Trooper once Rex and Cody decide he and Fives proved themselves ready to take on such responsibilities.
Species: Human (Clone)
Age: Old Man Babby Mid-20s, looks about 25-26ish

Arrival Condition: He's healthy, he'll be alright

History: Thanks, Wookiepedia

Personality: Despite looking and sounding very similar to the rest of his clone brothers, Echo had managed to create a personality for himself. It went against his initial programming, but such individuality was shaped and formed throughout his formative years, his surrounding environments and personal experiences contributing to his the changes. During training he had a tendency to exercise caution, following any directions or orders to a tee. This often led to him 'echoing' and correcting the rest of the clones in his assigned unit whenever they strayed from their current objective, fearing for the worse whenever they failed to cooperate. Although reserved in this manner, he had proven himself bold enough to butt heads with his teammate Hevy, matching the aggressive clone's determination and grit long after they graduated and began their first real assignments as soldiers in the Army of the Grand Republic.

To be fair, Echo is kind of a nerd. While he fights the good fight, he doesn't mind spending his downtime on quieter activities like reading up on military regulations. Doing so makes him an easy target for teasing amongst his brothers, but it's not all bad – his ability to retain information brings about attention to overlooked details that may become useful in times of crisis. These moments can buy him (and any cooperative ally) time to work toward a solution. And when it's not as dire a situation, he also comes off as redundant whenever he explains the obvious. Thankfully, dropping unsolicited advice on others isn't as frequent as it used to be, making him tolerable to those who are in his present company.

As an ARC-Trooper, Echo doesn't abuse the title that he has been given. He has earned it through the demonstration his courage, resourcefulness, and unexpected creativity during battle, adapting as much as he can to the given circumstances think and act on the fly when there is little time to react. Adaptation, however, is a skill he still needs to develop; despite being more flexible in strategizing or on the battlefield, old habits are hard to break. Most importantly, he never flaunts his rank. He staunchly acts as support and he does his job well.

Abilities:

- Clone Trooper: Clones are created from a template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. The genetic material of said template has been modified in several ways: accelerating aging so clones can grow and mature twice as fast; adjusting stats like strength and endurance for better physical performance; managing aggression levels and the need for independence so that clones will be compliant and obedient to orders. With these features, the perfect soldier is ready to fight for the Republic at a moment's notice. But even with these advantages, they're still human, they're still mortal, and they continue to learn long after they leave the cloning facilities.

- Weapons Specialist: Echo can use most weapons, ranging from military-issue blasters (that can also be set to stun), a set of pistols, a rifle, "droid poppers" (ion/electro-magnetic pulse grenades), thermal detonators, and frag grenades. He can also fight without a weapon, but hand-to-hand combat usually serves as a second or third option down the line (or, in special cases i.e. whenever he and Hevy argued).

- Technical Angle: Thanks to Kamino's flash training sessions, he knows how to work technology (i.e. datapads and small devices) and handle bridge duties, sitting at the control panels of a station or ship to make sure everything is working according to standard procedure. It's a job he doesn't mind being saddled with so long as repairs and maintenance are manageable to a certain degree.

- Tactically-minded: Because he is able to retain information like a sponge, Echo has a tendency to save almost everything he's read or talked about with others. Sometimes it's rules and regulations. Other times it's a personal learning experience that can be adapted out in other situations. And then there's the large-scale strategic plotting for future battles to ensure the Republic has the upper hand over Separatist schemes and invasions.

Personal Item: The DC-15A Blaster Carbine a.k.a. standard blaster with whatever plasma rounds it still has in it

Sample: TDM Top-Level Thread for Echo
